Dr Anupam Pokharel currently offers both Face-to-Face and Telehealth Appointments Unable to see workers employed with Monash Health and Ramsay Health
For Face-to-Face Assessment
1. Examinee may be requested to wear a mask during the psychiatric examination.
2. Examinees will be requested to complete a consent form in the consulting rooms prior to the assessment. The examinee is advised to attend my rooms at 33 Doncaster East Road, Mitcham, Victoria 10-15 mins before the scheduled time. There is an on-site car park (paid at a machine at the hospital entrance, which is approximately 100 meters from 33 Doncaster East Road Mitcham 3132). There are free street parking spots nearby as well (up to 2 hours).
3. IME requests the agents/referrer to ensure the examinee is informed about the appointment and reminders be sent.
4. IME requests the agents/referrer to provide the examinee's mobile phone, which may be used to confirm the appointment and/or inform them of directions.
5. To minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission, a telehealth assessment is recommended over a face-to-face consult if a support person is required.
For Video Assessment
1. IME prefers DOXY.ME for videoconference appointments through a link on IME's website www.psychmedic.com.au There is a link, 'Start a Booked Telehealth Consultation' on the top of this website, which the worker is expected to click a few minutes before their assessment starts. IME has also used Zoom (option 2 on the website) when option 1 does not work. Please do not click on Zoom (option 2) unless advised by the IME. This will be decided at the time of assessment. WhatsApp can be used on occasions when DOXY.ME (option 1) and zoom (option 2) have failed; however, WhatsApp is not IME's preference. Please advise the examinee that an email and a text will also be sent with the videoconference link.
2. IME requests the agent to provide the examinee IME's website www.psychmedic.com.au to familiarize themself with the planned telehealth assessment (video assessment).
3. IME also requests the Agent/Referrer to ask the examinee to fill in a consent form through the same website, preferably a day or two before the scheduled appointment (https://psychmedic.com.au/consent.php).
4. Agent/referrer is to provide IME with the examinee's phone number and email address, which IME will use to send emails and phone/texts in preparation for the video assessment. Agent to ensure the examinee agrees to email and phone communication from the IME for the purpose of this assessment.
5. IME does not offer audio-only independent medical examinations. However, if the video fails during the course of the assessment, after having visualized the examinee, the IME may consider proceeding with audio only assessment to complete the assessment.
Interpreters
1. The referrer/agent is requested to organize interpreters when required. IME will not organize, confirm appointments with the interpreters or pay the interpreters.
2. IME requests on-site face-to-face attendance of the interpreters for a face-to-face assessment.
3. For the purpose of video assessment, IME requests the interpreters to use the same video conference platform as the examinee. Agents are requested to advise the interpreter to click on the link at the top of this page, Start a Booked Telehealth Consultation and follow the prompts.
4. Please note that it is IME's experience that phone interpretation for face-to-face or video assessment creates problems.
5. Agent/referrer, please advise IME in the referral letter of the interpreter attending the appointment.
Fees
1. Please confirm fees with the IME before booking the appointment. Invoices will be sent with the report. Payment is expected within seven days of the report submission.
2. Late Cancellation fee (within four business days) or Non-attendance fee will be charged to the referring agent.
